Motorola launches Xoom 2 in the UK

Motorola Mobility has launched another two tablets in its Xoom series.

The Xoom 2 tablet has a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display and runs on Android Honeycomb. The manufacturer said it has sharpened the display but softened the edges of the device to make it more comfortable to use. It is 100g lighter than the original Xoom. It also has 1.3-megapixel front and five-megapixel rear-facing cameras. The Xoom 2 Media Edition has largely the same specifications as the Xoom 2 but with a 8.2-inch screen and a 20% improvement in graphics, compared to the original Xoom.

The Wi-Fi model of the Xoom 2 Media Edition is available from £299.99. The most expensive device in the series, the Xoom 2 with Wi-Fi and 3G is priced £449.99.

Motorola Mobility UK and Nordics marketing director Victoria McManus said: 'Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road. We are very excited about the latest additions to our tablet portfolio that builds on the success of the original Motorola Xoom and the Xoom 2 Wi-Fi variants to deliver even more choice when it comes to tablet experiences in the UK.'
