BuyMobilePhones.net eyes double profits

Online retailer BuyMobilePhones.net has hired Stuart Joce, Three’s former head of cross sales, and Joe Butler, former Lebara national account manager, as it bids to double profits and launch a new white label service.

Joce will take on the newly created role of commercial director, overseeing both BuyMobilePhones.net and the company’s b2b dealership A1 Comms. He is also tasked with identifying new sources of revenue. Butler, the business’ head of third party sales, will manage the white label service.

The Derbyshire-based company is also recruiting for the newly created role of head of customer service and retention to manage the company’s call centre and telesales services.

BuyMobilePhones.net MD Paul Sisson [pictured] told Mobilethe company was aiming to double profits and increase turnover from £52m in 2011/12 to £70m this financial year. ‘Stuart has been brought in to help us grow the business. He will take an active role in the day-to-day management of the business, bringing a hands-on presence, and will develop new incremental routes such as white label,’ he said.

Sisson said he had been approached by a private equity investor recently ‘with a very reasonable offer’, but added he is not willing to sell either business ‘whilst we continue to double our profits year on year and grow so strongly’.
